Surveys show 67% of Galway and 57% of Waterford visitors use sustainable transport (bus, rail, walking, cycling). Car use is 30% in Galway, 40% in Waterford. Intended spend: sustainable transport users account for 49% of spend in Galway, 41% in Waterford. Average intended spend €51 in Galway, €58 in Waterford. Surveys conducted September 2025 with 605 (Galway) and 612 (Waterford) face-to-face interviews. Combined data across five cities shows most visitors use sustainable modes."
