"The Irish Government agreed a new fuel cost support package on April 12, 2026, including further excise reductions on diesel (10c, total 32c), petrol (10c, total 27c), and green diesel (2.4c, total 7.4c). A planned carbon tax increase is deferred to Budget. A new Road Transporters Support Scheme (RTSS) costing €40 million per month will aid haulage and coach operators. A €100 million Fuel Subsidy Support Scheme covers farmers, contractors, and fishers from March to July. Measures take effect April 14 and run until July 31, 2026."
