"The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a warning to motor vehicle importers and distributors in Ireland following reports that authorised dealers are telling motorists their warranties will be void if they use independent garages or non-original spare parts for routine servicing. The CCPC also notes complaints that independent repairers cannot access diagnostic tools and OBD data. The regulator requests information by 6 August 2025 and warns of financial sanctions up to €10 million or 10% turnover for breaches, with criminal penalties up to €50 million or 20% turnover."
