"The Credit Institutions (Stabilisation) Act 2010 (No. 36/2010) was enacted by the Oireachtas on 21 December 2010 to address the serious disturbance in the Irish economy. It empowers the Minister for Finance to make direction orders, special management orders, subordinated liabilities orders, and transfer orders for certain credit institutions, particularly Anglo Irish Bank. The Act allows interference with property rights in the public interest and amends related legislation. It was part of the EU/IMF programme of financial support for Ireland."
