"The Irish government has initiated a review of the Public Financial Procedures (PFP) guide, which outlines financial management rules for government departments. Last updated in 2008, the review aims to enhance accountability, clarity, and value for money in public spending. Minister Jack Chambers announced the review on 21 October 2025. The review will consider changes in operational practices and legislation, and produce recommendations for implementation in the first half of 2026. The update seeks to better support officials and improve Oireachtas scrutiny."
