"The Joint Committee on Artificial Intelligence of the Irish Oireachtas has published its first interim report, containing 35 recommendations for Ireland's AI policy. Key proposals include establishing a permanent committee on AI, convening a Citizens' Assembly on AI and digitalisation, creating a National AI Office by August 2026, and fully implementing the EU AI Act as a minimum baseline. The report also calls for mandatory algorithmic impact assessments, regulatory sandboxes, and increased digital literacy. The committee heard from experts and civil society groups over seven meetings held between June and November 2025."
