"The Irish Ethics in Public Office Act 1995 requires disclosure of interests by holders of certain public offices, including Oireachtas members, and by designated directors and employees of public bodies. It establishes committees in each House and a Commission (now SIPO) to investigate complaints and issue guidelines. The Act also prohibits the retention of valuable gifts by office holders and amends the Prevention of Corruption Acts."
