"The Irish Ombudsman Ger Deering welcomes the government's commitment to develop a new grant-based transport scheme for people with disabilities. A working group established by the Taoiseach has completed its work, proposing a scheme led by the Department of Transport. Deering also calls for sustainable funding for the 'Under 65 Programme' that transitions younger people out of nursing homes. Complaints rose to 4,778 in 2024, with 80% resolved within three months."
