"The Critical Infrastructure Bill 2026, initiated on 8 April 2026, allows the Irish Government to designate projects and programmes as critical infrastructure. Public bodies must prioritise and expedite these projects. The Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation can issue directions. Section 15 of the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Act 2015 is disapplied for designated projects."
