"The Critical Infrastructure Bill 2026 (Bill 37 of 2026) was initiated in Dáil Éireann on 9 April 2026. It establishes a government designation and protection regime for critical infrastructure projects and programmes. It imposes duties on public bodies and empowers the Minister for Public Expenditure to issue directions. It amends section 15 of the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Act 2015. The bill has passed all five Dáil stages and is currently at Seanad Third Stage as of 20 May 2026."
