"The Health (Amendment) (Home Support Providers) Bill 2025 introduces a registration and inspection system for home support providers in Ireland. Providers must register with HIQA; operating without registration will be an offence. Transitional arrangements apply for existing providers. HIQA will have inspection powers. The Bill is a step towards a statutory homecare scheme and aims to improve quality and safety. It follows pre-legislative scrutiny by the Joint Committee on Health and is currently at Second Stage in the Dáil."
