"Minister for Finance Simon Harris presented the Annual Progress Report 2026 to the Budgetary Oversight Committee. He reported a general government surplus of €9.2 billion but an Exchequer deficit of €4.7 billion. Inflation is projected at 3.3% for 2026, potentially rising to 4.5% under severe energy price scenarios. Over €750 million in cost-of-living measures have been implemented.
