"The EPA's 2025-2055 projections indicate Ireland will achieve at most a 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, roughly half the national 51% target. While the first carbon budget (2021-2025) may be met, the second budget will be exceeded by 53-82 Mt CO2eq. Transport, industry, and commercial buildings are furthest from their sectoral ceilings.
