"The Article 109 Coalition urged Ireland's Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade to back UN Charter review under Article 109. In its first hearing before a national parliament, the coalition argued that Ireland, given its commitment to multilateralism and international norms, should lead efforts to adapt the UN to geopolitical shifts. The coalition, comprising around 100 members, calls for a General Conference to review the Charter, 80 years overdue."
