Key areas of focus included examination of audited accounts and reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG). Recommendations covered prefab school accommodation, paper payslips (saving €14m), direct provision, bogus self-employment, social housing supports, excise duty reporting, and building standards failure. The committee visited the National Paediatric Hospital and called for an independent review of prison mess committees."
