"In 2025, EU institutions and member states cut their official development assistance (ODA) significantly. EU institutions reduced ODA by 13.8%, the largest single-year cut in a decade, while member states collectively cut 9.9% from 2024 levels. Seventeen member states reduced their aid. These reductions follow a global trend and raise concerns about the EU's commitment to poverty reduction, especially in least developed countries (LDCs)."
